Reset Week 2: The Great Commission Message Summary: Every one is searching for a cause and a calling. Thankfully, Christians don't have to wait for a whisper from heaven to discover God’s goal for their life, since Jesus gave his followers a clear and compelling mission—to tell people about God’s love in Christ. This message digs into the Church’s calling and discusses practically ways to share Jesus with others. ✦ Who do you know that doesn’t go? ✦ Matthew 28:16-20 — Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ✦ Matthew 28:19a — Therefore go and make disciples of all nations ✦ 1 Timothy 2:3-4- — This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. ✦ Romans 10:14,15 — How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? Invest Luke 15:1,2 — Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” 2. Invite John 1:40-42, 44-46 — Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. 3.
